Is body wash a substitute for a soap bar?

If it is, does it work better than a soap bar?Is body wash a substitute for a soap bar?
They are both soap but the bar dries my skin out to i use body wash.

Body wash is detergent. Detergent is synthetic soap. Soap is naturally occurring through the saponification process.

So no it is not a substitute.

Detergents do not kill germs like true soaps. Detergent has a pH of about 7 (nuetral) where soap has a pH of about 9.5. This why you hear about antibacterial soaps. What they really mean is antibacterial detergent. Soap is naturally antibacterial. Marketing at its finest. LOL

Stay away from milled bars of soap. They were designed over a hundred years ago and were meant to be used to wash your floors, dishes, clothes, etc. Not great for the skin since they are way to drying.

Look for instead a cold process soap. You will find these soaps at your health food stores. Check out Kreamy Soaps on line they have the best soaps.

Hope this helps
They're both soap. Neither works better than the other because they are essentially the same thing.
