I'm a Male in my late 20's and I've been using a shower puff now for nearly 10 years. Thing is, though, I sometimes wonder if it's ';acceptable practice'; for a guy to use a puff. So what does everyone else think? Ladies - does your man have a puff and if so, does he use it regularly? Do you have to make him use it or does he use it without being told? Did you buy it for him or did he buy it himself? Most importantly - how does he feel about using a shower puff?
Also, what type of body wash does he use - one that's designated for Males or one that's designated for Females? Does it really matter what type of body wash one uses? It's perfectly fine. I've turned my past b/f's onto using puffs. I don't think it matters what type of body wash a guy uses...probably one that smells guyish like Irish spring or the types targeted towards men would be better. But, I've been around plenty of guys that used girl soap and its not a bad thing...they just smell sweeter and have softer skin. =)Is it okay for a guy to use a shower puff? We get the Shower Gel %26amp; Sea Salt from Arbonne.
He says using a shower puff and loofah makes his skin feel good plus helps get him clean when he has been working in the garden or field.
I am 35 yr old married male, I have been using one for the past 5 years or so. I think it is easier to clean with rather than with a wash cloth, or just a bar of soap. As far as the body wash, I use the Old Spice High Endurance, it has a good stink to it and it gets me clean. The type of body wash you use is totally up to you.
My boyfriend doesn't just use a body puff, he uses an expensive one from Bath and Body Works-- he gets exhemia (I'm pretty sure I misspelled that!) on his skin, so exfoliating in the shower helps a great deal. He doesn't use any gender specific body wash, I think typically he uses Cocoa Butter body wash in some fruity smell. :) Don't worry, it doesn't make you any less of a man! Its good for your skin to exfoliate! :)

Where can I find Yardley, natural oatmeal and almond body wash?
I know Walgreens has it, but only in the soap bar form. I would like to find the body wash without ordering it online. Is antibacterial body wash causing more acne on the face?
I have acne around my mouth and chin area, but no where else. I am also prone to very dry skin. I wash my face with antibacterial body wash and sometimes use cetaphil to mosturize. Everything I have tried to get rid of acne isn't working. I have even tried proactive. I never had acne as a teenager and now that I'm 25, here it is. Should I just be rinsing with water only and not washing?Is antibacterial body wash causing more acne on the face?
I know where you're coming from. My brother has bad acne and nothing he has used in the past has worked. I would definitely not recommend that you stop using soap to wash your face! It is very important! However, a body wash is not the best thing to wash your face with. Use a bar of glycerin soap or another soap that is gentle, yet very good for the face. One thing I do recommend is getting a cloth that will exfoliate your skin. Something to remove any dead skin cells and remove dirt and oil. That should help a lot!
They have something at Wal-Mart called AcneFree, and that is known to work pretty well. I have used it before. I personally don't have really any acne at all, but to keep it from coming I am currently using a AcneFree Acne and Blackhead Terminator. I have used it for a long time and it doesn't fail me. It comes in a small tube. One of my cousins who has bad acne did try it once and said that the next morning she noticed a big difference and she got really excited and decided to get her own.
One other thing I would recommend is a possible change of diet. If you are eating a lot of excess sugar and processed foods, then that will largely contribute to acne. Stuff like pop and candy should be limited if consumed at all. Eat more of your fruits and veggies and drink LOTS water! Water will help in flushing out the toxins that are in your body and need to be removed. Acne will not come if there isn't anything bad in your body that is needing to come out. That is just something to remember.

Body wash might be too harsh on your face. Cetaphil is a good moisturizer I use it as well...I use facial cleanser since I have acne prone skin (32 yrs) I also use St. Ives apricot scrub for blemish and blackheads ( salicylic acid I believe it contained ) and Oral contraceptive ( tri orthocylen or trinessa (generic) or trisprintec (generic) ) Witch hazel ( astringent ) for blotchiness. Once every two weeks, use Vitamin E sink in moisture mask by Body shop for hydration. And don't forget to moisturize at night as well.
I had the same problem- turns out it was hormones and I was adding to it by touching my face there... ie. resting my head in my hand while I was working at my desk. I now wash my face with noxema (non- drying) and do my best to not touch my face. Hope that helps out!
Oh- also... in my experience Proactive is VERY drying. And if you don't wash your face with some sort of cleansing product- you will get more acne. You have to get rid of the dirt from everyday, it's in the air so even if you don't touch your face you would still need a cleanser.
The antibacterial body wash most probably is way too abrasive. Wash with mild facial cleaner, a foam or like, and moisturize lightly, a gel might be good.
As to how to control the acne:
1.Go to a dermatologist.
2. Sleep at least 8 hours a night, that is the time (deep sleep) your body produces hormones that keep your skin in shape.
3. Eat your veggies.

If you have excessive dry skin it's easier to use the Moisturizing Body Wash in the shower after you cleanse yourself with regular soap.
The water and body wash together acts as a great layer that keeps the skin hydrated longer rather than adding lotion to the entire body after you have dried which doesn't absorb very well into the skin and also it's time consuming.

daisy by marc jacobs is on my wish list right now. it has a mixture of floral scent and a bit of crisp apple-y scent to it.
be delicious by dkny is also very crisp and floral if you're looking for that.

daisy by marc jacobs is on my wish list right now. it has a mixture of floral scent and a bit of crisp apple-y scent to it.
be delicious by dkny is also very crisp and floral if you're looking for that.

Bath and body works are famous for their body sprays and lotions, but I don't think anyone really pays attention to their body washes and shower gels. Is body wash a good substitute for shampoo in certain situations?
i was takin a shower today and noticed i ran out of shampoo, so i washed my hair with body wash. Is that stuff bad for my hair? or is it better than just water?Is body wash a good substitute for shampoo in certain situations?
Way better than stinky scalp and dirty hair. A lot of body wash for men is for hair and body these days. So it is fine to use it once in awhile. No harm done. The Shikai line of shower gel is awesome! You can get them in Trader Joes grocery stores, and Walgreens. It is a soap free moisturizing cleansing gel, in scents like white gardenia, and works wonders for senstive skin. I have really bad acne on my back, and I think it was caused by harsh cleansing products. As soon as i started using Shikai, the bumps went away and my skin is a lot calmer.
Ivory or caress... I have sensitive skin too and those are the only two I can use.
